When it comes to the short form anime series out there it can be pretty hit or miss as to whether they get a Blu-ray release. While details are slim at this point, it looks like the summer series Danchigai is one short form show that will be getting one. The series is set for a September 18th, 2015 release where it’ll have the entire run for 7,344 yen on Blu-ray and 5,400 yen on DVD. No extras are listed for the release yet, though with most shows like this there’s usually not much in the way of extras, if any.
The short form series is getting a bit of extra love as episodes will clock in at five minutes. With three volumes of Ichijinsha’s manga series Danchigai published in Japan, the third earlier this spring, the four-panel manga is going to be done as a short as it’s coming from Dream Creation, who has worked on a lot of this, and it’s set Hiroshi Kumura as the director for it.
The series stars Satomi Akesaka as Mutsuki Nakano, Mikako Komatsu as Yayoi Nakano, Sora Tokui as Uzuki Nakano, Sayaka Horino as Satsuki Nakano and Atsushi Abe as Haruki Nakano.
Plot concept: Danchigai focuses on the life of Haruki Nakano and his four sisters, all of whom live together in the same apartment complex. The only boy of five siblings, Haruki lives with his older sister Mutsuki, difficult younger sister Yayoi, and mischievous twins Uzuki and Satsuki.
