With the first installment of the second cour for Durarara!! X2 landing next month with Ten and Aniplex Japan is now getting things underway for the summer cour with the first volume cover artwork revealed. The show will begin its release n August 26th, 2015 and will mirror the same pricing/format plan as the first cour. The show is getting Blu-ray limited edition priced at 6,696 yen, a DVD limited edition at 6,156 yen and a regular edition DVD at 5,076 yen. The limited edition releases are coming with a bonus disc in the form of an original drama CD. The release comes with a color booklet, sticker, event priority ticket and more. On disc extras include an audio commentary so far.
Aniplex USA is bringing it out in simulcast form this year through their partners at Crunchyroll and Hulu as well as on their own Aniplex Channel. The Durarara!! X2 series is planned for three seasons, with the first part in January 2015, the second in summer 2015 and the third part in Winter 2016.
The main staff is returning to the production with Takahiro Omori directing based on scripts by Noboru Takagi and character designs by Takahiro Kishida. Animation production is being done by studio Shuka, their first production, instead of Brains Base which handled the first series.

Peace has once again returned to the city and people are living each day normally. The informant plots a new scheme and the headless rider is pursued by the cops as she rides through the night…But soon this normal will be cut short by the abnormal. Slowly but surely, the unknown will seize the city and face an all new storm.
