2 min read

Marine Corps YumiUnfortunate news has surfaced that long time manga translator and creator of the Marine Corps Yumi series, Anastasia Moreno, has passed away. Moreno worked on a number of properties over the years, primarily for Seven Seas Entertainment and a few others, that were very popular with fans such as Girls und Panzer and Strawberry Panic. She also worked n the Trinity Bloody novels and the original Love Hina manga series.

Moreno was also a Marine Corps veteran who created a fun manga series about the experience which we encourage folks to check out even if it’s just from third party sellers now.

Seven Seas Entertainment provided the original update:

The staff of Seven Seas extends its heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Anastasia Moreno, who recently passed away. Anastasia was, among many things, a talented Japanese translator who we were fortunate enough to work with over the years. Her titles with us included Kisses Sighs and Cherry Blossom Pink, Girl Friends, Girls und Panzer, Zero’s Familiar andStrawberry Panic. Anastasia was a pleasure to collaborate with and her work, both on numerous manga series and her own Marine Corps Yumi web comic, will continue to entertain and enrich readers for years to come.
