Jokamachi no Dandelion

Castle Town Dandelion | Episode 1

_PS_: I absolutely adored this one. It’s near the top of my summer list so far. Poor Akane to wind up in that family when she’s so shy. I loved her determination to become king (queen?) so she’ll have an easier life. This looks like it’s going to be fun. It blends a lot of disparate elements – family comedy + royalty + reality show + superpowers – and does it well. I look forward to getting to know all the kids better. I like Aoi already.

General Hentai: That was…fun? cute? warm & fuzzy? Oh, yeah, all of those choices. I wasn’t sure what to make of this going in, but I’m glad I checked it out. Akane’s adorable, even when she’s been pantsued by her oldest brother. It seems like a nice family of siblings, one who needed their Mom to have threatened to castrate their Dad if he went through with this vote to determine who’ll be the next king (then again, given that they’ve got 9 kids, I don’t think she knows how to say “no”).

This looks to be one I’ll be following. Oh, and the promos were wrong. It looks like 2,000 cameras.

Buckeye: It wouldn’t surprise me if there are actually over 9000 of them.

stardf29: Huh, I enjoyed this a lot. The siblings all seem to be a lot of fun, and get along with each other interestingly enough, and I can totally get how Akane feels about essentially being an unwitting star of a reality show. Which just makes it funnier when she goes out of her way to help by catching a thief, and just exposes herself even more. (In more ways than one…)

The siblings seem to all have some fun powers. Gotta love how the girl with the power of creating things on demand has to pay for anything she creates, and how the girl who can create seven copies of herself has her copies all have different personalities (wasn’t there another show about that? Something like Nana Seven of Seven?).

So yeah, a fun and charming show all around. And as it turns out, the original 4-koma is a Manga Time Kirara series (specifically Manga Time Kirara Miracle, which also had Sakura Trick and Koufuku Graffiti), so I guess it’s not that surprising I liked this so much.
