Sky Wizards Academy | Episode 1
_PS_: With so much “eh, but I’ll try another” this season, it’s almost a relief to find something that’s just awful. The pervert stuff, the “I’m special because nobody likes me/everyone’s afraid of me, but I don’t care because I’m a badass,” the weird wrong-looking flying.
Buckeye: Alright, this show has an interesting premise, but that was just a silly way to start things off making Kanata an accidental pervert. Being a traitor is one thing, but being a perceived pervert is something I just don’t need. Anyway, I like what this show could potentially become, but at the moment it’s not exactly off to the best of starts. At least it doesn’t start off as badly as another Diomedea show in World Break that has a similar setup.
General Hentai: Traitor, traitor, traitor. Well, that was a start. Of what, I’m not quite sure. Like how is he a traitor? Frankly, I thought World Break started off better than this show, as the whole pervert thing was just plain silly, and stupid (seriously, I’d really like to know the number of Japanese girls since 2000 who’ve run with a piece of bread in their mouth).
It’s not all bad, and could be promising. Kanata himself seems interesting, though I’m worried that OPness is clearly lurking there. World Break handled that well, will this show? Aside from Kanata, Chloe seems interesting. Of the loser girls, the shy klutz seems cute, while Red & goddess are coming off as annoying in different ways. I’ll keep watching, for now.
davesimmons: It doesn’t even have a twist like Tetstuya’s Power Of Incest in The Irregular at Magic High School. I’ll give it another episode or two before giving up, but I’m not optimistic.
Momoka Kibi: I wonder if the seiyuu in this anime ever get mixed up. “Director was I supposed to say pervert for the 50th time or traitor for the 35th time?” Aside from that the series is err ok I guess. I do like the characters having some issues. The goddess needs to be shipped with herself. Also Kanata being an instructor instead of a fellow student could be mix things up, maybe. So it’s off to a weak start with definite issues, but I might give it another episode or two. The just need to expand the dialog a bit.
GingaDaiuchuu: Oh hey, it’s this show. I feel like we didn’t have any of this show last season, but maybe it’s just hard to remember since it’s so forgettable and we got a bunch of it in the season before. This one has it all, down to the Yoshitsugu Matsuoka lead and Diomedea. And like all the other versions of it, it’s pretty much guaranteed to not inspire me to follow it.
Hitsugi Amachi: But that’s the right tone to take in any response. I found the more strident responses of others funny.
This show is bad, but it’s not the worst ever. It’s just mediocre bad, yet another repeat of “light novel fantasy for losers where they can pretend they’re the main character and be surrounded by a harem of beautiful girls while using their super powers to fight off evil creatures.” At least we don’t have 5 of them in the same season as we did in Winter.
It would be nice to see the limited resources put into animation production be used for something better than This Show every single season.
