BBC has now formally announced their plans for the Series 9 premiere of Doctor Who by setting a September 19th, 2015 debut for the show that brings back Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman once again. I had struggled with the show in general, opting out of a lot of it, since the relaunch back in the mid 2000’s as something just never clicked well for me. While my kids and others were totally on board, which I loved to see, it wasn’t until we got to the end of the previous Doctor’s run that I got into it a bit and then with the transitional special. The previous season is one that had me hook, line and sinker with Capaldi and his portrayal has me very excited to see where he can take it with this new season as everyone has a bit more experience with this Doctor now.
“They’ve suddenly realized that they are the most fortunate people in all of time and space and are hell-bent on adventure,” Capaldi said on the BBC site. “[The Doctor’s] in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something that even he does not yet understand…”
And oh, hey, that’s Maisie Williams. Yeah, that’ll be fun!
