It’s kind of crazy the amount of things being put into the Ninja Slayer series when you get down to it and looking at the soundtrack it has some of the hallmarks that reminds me of various 90’s Hollywood films where the soundtrack is the draw. With the release of the Ninja Slayer From Compilation “Nin” due out on July 22nd, a new promo spot from King Records has arrived that breaks down the expansive release that has six background music tracks and twelve ending themes from the first cour. The release is priced at 2,500 yen and has quite the range of gruops involved, making this a pretty content-rich release. Check out the group breakdown below and the promo spot.
The series was directed by Akira Amemiya, who has a good line of credits to his name over the years, having started as a key animator that has moved up to episode director status for a number of series, including some fun episodes of Kill la Kill while also serving as series director for Inferno Cop. Yu Sato is slated to handle the scripts while character designs come from Hiroyuki Imaishi and Yusuke Yoshigaki. Studio Trigger is behind the animation itself.
The cast includes Toshiyuki Morikawa as Ninja Slayer, Sho Hayami as Fujio Katakura/Dark Ninja, Chiwa Saito as Nancy Lee, Sora Amamiya as Koki Yamamoto, Risa Taneda as Dragon Yukano, Masane Tsukayama as Laomoto Khan, Tesshô Genda as Clone Yakuza and Goblin as the Narrator.
Plot concept: Ninjas. Karate. Sushi. The dystopian cyber underworld of Neo-Saitama is ruled from the shadows by an intricate web of drugs, yakuza gangs, and evil syndicate ninjas wielding fearsome “karate.” In a sea of the blood of his enemies, a lone maverick stands. NINJA SLAYER is a ninja who kills other ninjas in the name of ninja vengeance. A former salaryman whose family was killed by evil ninjas, Ninja Slayer cheats death and casts away his past to embrace the dark, mystical NINJA SOUL, a mysterious spirit that grants him great power in his quest for revenge. But will this bloodthirsty spirit consume Ninja Slayer before his enemies are all “dead on departure?” Domo. I’m Ninja Slayer.
