Aoharu x Kikanju Crunchyroll HeaderThe summer 2015 anime series Aoharu x Machinegun debuted last week and one of the production partners, King Records, is looking to do some promotion for one of their releases for it. Set for release on August 26th, 2015, they’ll be bringing out the ending theme CD for 1,200 yen in regular edition form and 1,800 yen for the limited edition. This will mark the seventh single coming from singer Mikako Komatsu and the releases will have some priority event ticket application forms in them for an upcoming event. The new promo below shows off more animation from the show tied to a portion of the song itself.

The series is set to be directed by Hideaki Nakano based on scripts by Kenji Konuta. Character designs are coming from Junko Yamanaka, who is also serving as chief animation director. The animation is being produced at Brains Base.

The previously announced cast included Mikako Komatsu as Hotaru Tachibana, Tomoaki Maeno as Masamune Matsuoka, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Tohru Yukimura, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Nagamasa Midori, Eri Kitamura as Ichi Akabane, Ryohei Kimura as Takatora Fujimoto and Yui Horie as Kanae Yajima.

The property is NAOE’s first work, which started off as a one-shot that appeared in Gangan Online back in the summer of 2011 and then spent some time being reworked into an ongoing series, which kicked off in the summer of 2012 in GFantasy magazine. It has six volumes out so far, of which you can see the covers for below.

Plot concept: Matsuoka and Yukki were close friends who dreamed of becoming professional soccer players together. But their hopes were dashed when Yukki moved away due to family issues. Matsuoka meets Yukki again while the latter is fleeing from his editor, and is soon introduced to his childhood friend’s latest obsession…
