FUNimation has a pretty interesting new promotional spot out for their upcoming release of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’. After bringing out the main subtitled trailer earlier in the week, they now go for what starts off as another voice actor piece talking about the film that instead goes for something that’s been pirated by an underground force warning of Saiyans. It’s pretty fun overall with a lot of very neat little nods within that should excite fans. And it’s just good to see companies trying to do something non-standard once in awhile to shake things up.
The film is getting limited screening between August 4th and 12th in theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Based on the screenplay by original creator Akira Toriyama, the two hour film is directed by Tadayoshi Yamamuro with Toei Animation handling the production side of it.
Plot concept: An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Frieza’s army Sorbet and Tagoma (from the Japanese word for ‘egg’) arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Frieza with the dragon balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, the “F” that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived…!
