Aniplex USA picked up the Tsukimonogatari piece of the Monogatari series awhile ago and has streamed it in a few places as well. Now they’re setting a September 15th, 2015 release for it on Blu-ray. The show will come with the original Japanese language track and English subtitles with the four episodes spread across two discs in one set. Extras include the clean opening and closing, promo and commercial collections as well as a deluxe booklet and pin-up postcards that mirror other recent releases in this franchise.
The work comes from the September 26th, 2012 novel of the same name which is the tenth part of the Monogatari series as a whole, but is the thirteenth novel in the overall series. It’s also the first book in the final season of the series.
Plot concept: “Please!—Do it, and get it over with.” Slowly but surely, Koyomi Araragi, who “has been averting his eyes from reality”, has no choice but to face it. February comes, and the college entrance exam is approaching. What is this “change” that is happening to his body that cannot be overlooked? The “Monogatari” begins to sprint towards its conclusion. This is Oddity taking place in the modern world! In a story of youth, a word of farewell is inevitable.
