Young Hot Spring Spirit Hakone-chan HeaderA new site has gone online that reveals the fall 2015 anime adaptation of Daisuke Yui’s manga series Onsen Yousei Hakone-chan, aka Young Hot Spring Spirit Hakone-chan. The site provides some solid details of what to expect at this point from the show as it’s being directed by Takeyuki Yanase, who is also serving sa the character designer, while scripts will be done by Korie Tomonaga and Momoko Murakami. Takeyuki Yanase and Masaaki Sakurai are serving as the chief animation directors with the work being animated by Asahi Production and Production REed.

The original work was part of the Aplix Comic Meteor website that ran between 2012 and 2014 with two volumes compiled for it.

Plot concept: The story follows Hakone, a hot spring spirit who descended to a spa resort on Earth. However, with her long slumber, she looks like a little girl on the outside. (The “Yousei” in the title is a wordplay on the Japanese words for fairy and a young child.) High school boy Touya stumbles across her at a hot spring and ends up joining Hakone in retrieving her original powers.
