Citing the intent to bring out the best show possible, the July 5th, 2015 premiere of God Eater has been delayed a week in order to finish it off to what they want it to be to meet fan expectations. The series was largely expected to get a delay after the cancelation of the June 28th screening of the episode, citing that work was being finished on that episode. The show is also supposed to get an Anime Expo 2015 premiere, but that’s expected to be canceled as well. In Japan, the broadcast slot will be given over to a God Eater Extra program that delves into the franchise itself. for fans to check out.
God Eater already has a worldwide distribution agreement in place with Daisuki streaming it outside of Japan and China. So we know this one will be available for fans.
The show has set Takayuki Hirao to direct it. Hirao has a solid background to be sure and has done work for the games, but he also worked on the Gyo OVA, which is hilariously vicious, as well as the fifth installment of the Garden of Sinners project. The project has also brought on board Keita Shimizu to handle the character designs for the series, which will be interesting as he handled the animation on Fate/Zero.
The cast includes Ryuichi Kijima as Renka Utsugi, Hiroaki Hirata as Lindow Amamiya, Maaya Sakamoto as Alisa Illinichina Amiella, Kazuya Nakai as Soma Schicksal, Daisuke Sakaguchi as Kota Fujiki and Sayaka Ohara as Sakuya.
