The summer 2015 series Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers is set to premiere soon and now Pony Canyon Japan has set up the home video release plans for the series there. The show is getting a six volume release that begins on September 16th, 2015 with two episodes per disc for the twelve episode run. The Blu-ray releases are priced at 7,344 yen each while the DVD releases aer priced at 6,264 yen each. We’ve got the full schedule below and will be updating the extras/first press materials as they’re revealed.
Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers is directed by Takeo Takahashi of Spice & Wolf and Mayou fame with overall composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata. Sayaka Koiso handled the character designs and also served as the chief animation director while Tatsuya Fukushima handled creature design and Yoshinori Iwanaga did prop design. The series was animated by Passione.
The series stars Soma Saito as Adlet Yōko Hikasa as Nachetanya, Aoi Yuki as Flamie, Kenichi Suzumura as Hans, Rina Satou as Maura and Ai Kakuma as Chamot.
The property comes from Ishio Yamagata (with Kei Toru handling the manga adaptation) which began back in 2011 and has five volumes to its name so far.
Plot concept: When “The Majin” awakes the goddess of fate will choose six warriors and bestow them with the power to save the world. Somewhere on their bodies a crest in the shape of a flower will appear and as a result the warriors are called “The Heroes of the Six Flowers”. As the day of The Majin’s revival nears, Adlet, a boy who calls himself the strongest man in the world, is chosen as one of the “Six Flowers”. But when the heroes arrived at their designated location, they found that there were seven heroes present. Which meant that one of them was an imposter and an enemy. Confused by the impossible situation, suspicion and paranoia spread among the chosen. And within a thick forest, the heroes’ fierce battle begins!
