Fox picked up the high profile pilot earlier this spring for the TV continuation of Minority Report, which is set to debut this fall as part of the Monday night lineup at 9pm after Gotham. With the network working its summer shows into the schedule, they’ve lined up three different spots for it to begin promoting its bigger fall shows earlier in order to build interest and mindshare for it. Check those out below, and the pilot trailer as well if you haven’t seen it.
The show has cast Stark Sands to the dual role of twin brothers Dash and Arthur while Meagan Good has joined as Lara Vega. Daniel London will be in the series, reprising his role as Wally the Caretaker from the film, as well as Li Jun Li and Laura Regan. Regan is set to play Agatha, which was played by Samantha Morton in the film, while Li is on board as a CSI tech named Akella.
The pilot was written by Max Borenstein, who penned the Godzilla screenplay, and it’s being produced by Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. The pilot has now been given the go-ahead to be filmed for contention for a series pickup of some sort, as Fox continues to play with different episode lengths based on what a show needs. Most importanty, the pilot has picked up a showrunner for it with Kevin Falls, who has worked on The West Wing and more recently with Franklin & Bash.
Plot concept: Set in Washington, D.C., it is 10 years after the demise of Precrime, a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals…before their crimes were committed. To carry out this brand of justice, the agency used three precogs – “precognitives” Dash, Arthur and Agatha – who were able to see the future. Now, in 2065, crime-solving is different, and justice leans more on sophisticated and trusted technology than on the instincts of the precogs.
