The final installment of the franchise is coming up for this Thanksgiving holiday period and that means a new trailer has finally surfaced for Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. The first installment of this two part telling of the final book from Suzanne Collins was released in November 2014 and with its $125 million budget, it did $752 million worldwide just in theatrical receipts. Expectations are it’ll be the same or higher for the final, particularly with marathons thrown in, since this will have a lot more TV spot oriented material with the action and emotional components.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Stef Dawson, Evan Ross, Lily Rabe, Patina Miller, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson, Robert Knepper. It debuts on November 20th, 2015.
Plot concept: In “Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2,” we follow heroine Katniss Everdeen’s journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. As the war that will determine the fate of Panem escalates, Katniss must decipher for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done, with everything she cares for in the balance.
