‘Hinata no Aoshigure’ Short Anime Film Gets Japanese DVD/BD Release

Hinata no AoshigureThe 2013 short film Hinata no Aoshigure from Studio Colorido is getting its release later this summer, tied to the companies debut this month of Typhoon Noruda. The short film arrived back in the fall of 2013 and ran for 18 minutes, which was directed by Hiroyasu Ishida based on the screenplay her wrote. Youjirou Arai served as character designer and animation director and the project starred Anju Inami and Saori Hayami in the lead roles.

The Blu-ray is being done in a limited edition, which you can see the packaging for on the right, that will be priced at 6,300 yen. This release comes with a soundtrack CD, a twelve page book,et a 38 page storyboard artbook, another 122 page art book and a 34 page setting and original works collection. There’s some 16 minutes of bonus material added on disc as well, which is undefined at this point. The regular edition DVD is priced at 4,104 yen.

Plot concept: Hinata is very good at drawing and falls in love with his classmate, Shigure; however, Hinata is not good at talking to people, so he keeps his feelings in his imagination and drawings. Then, Shigure’s family decides to move to another town. On the day of their move, Hinata says to himself, “I must tell her my feelings!” and starts to chase after the train which is taking Shigure away.
