TV Tokyo continues to have close ties to Disney and their Marvel side as they’ve currently broadcasting the third season of Ultimate Spider-Man with Web Warriors. The new season kicked off back in April and now the first bit of promotion for the tenth episode landing on June 9nd has arrived. With the show being run a bit out of order as the 13th episode was shown last week, the tenth episode this time around is episode nine from the original run, which kicks off the Spider-Verse saga. The series gets some prime broadcast real estate as it’s a 6:30pm show, making it part of a lot of family’s dinner time together in Japan. This episode was written by Eugene Son and directed by Tim Maltby.
This season of the series was originally broadcast during the late summer/fall of 2014 in North America. If anyone knows the cast information for this series, please let us know as I’ve not been able to track it down.
Plot concept: Spider-Man learns that the Green Goblin is planning to travel across the Multiverse using the Siege Perilous he stole from S.H.I.E.L.D. and the energy of Electro to collect the DNA of other Spider-Men. Spider-Man follows his enemy to the futuristic world of Marvel 2099 (which is drawn in CGI) and helps boost the confidence of Spider-Man 2099. Then he travels to a gender-swapped universe and teams up with Spider-Girl to defeat their world’s versions of the Green Goblin.
