What They Say
When elder brother Youta and kid sister Hikaru get into an accident that switches their bodies, Hikaru (in her brother’s body) changes into a fiendish letch, and Youta (in his sister’s body) finds himself her “girlfriend.” Thrust into a bizarre reality where he’s now taking orders from his own body, will Youta ever get himself out of this pinch and back where he belongs?!
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
As the brother/sister boyfriend/girlfriend pair leave Ichijou’s home, Youta is surprised to learn that Hikaru actually just wants to go on a date (for now, at least). This results in a good bit of Hikaru strong-arming her brother/girlfriend into some rather frilly outfits. They eventually end up at the pool, where Mayama pops up. Just as Youta starts to adjust to what’s going on, Hikaru starts to talk dirty, once more lighting a fire in our hero’s heart to get back to normal. Just as he considers that maybe a similar accident would trigger a change back but writes off the idea due to the danger, he slips down the stairs, with Hikaru following along for the tumble.
Though this triggers a similar sensation it doesn’t reverse the switch, and much to Youta’s horror Hikaru is left battered and unconscious from the fall. Fortunately, Hikaru makes it away with just a sprained right hand. In the aftermath, the twins actually have a halfway decent heart to heart. Following this, Youta decides to visit Mayama and thank him. He actually ends up seeing another side of Mayama while there, though, bringing the two a bit closer. Afterwards, Hikaru gets jealous, and things start to drift in a bit of an incestual direction once more.
Finally, when Oda ends up entrapping the twins and Mayama in a scheme of her own devising, just what will occur? And just what exactly is the deal with her “dog”?
In Summary
For the most part, this volume feels a lot like the first. The characters still feel like they could use a little more oomph, and the story is still drifting in a bit of an incestuous direction. On the other hand, this volume manages a bit better than the first, being a little more focused. Mayama comes into his own as a character, and Oda proves that she’s more than just a plot point and becomes a bit more involved here as well, fleshing out the cast a good bit. There’s also a rather standout point with the twins, involving a particularly amusing two page spread and the things that follow. It’s still hard to call this an exceptional series, but it’s definitely got its moments and manages to provide something unique, which certainly makes it worth a look.
