Kung FuryYou had me at Triceracop.

The Review:
Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers)
During an unfortunate series of events, a friend of Kung Fury is assassinated by the most dangerous kung fu master criminal of all time; Adolf Hitler, a.k.a Kung Führer. He refuses to work with his new partner, Tricerocop, and turns in his badge to settle the score on his own. With the help of Hackmaster, Fury travels back in time but too far, to the Viking Age, where he meets two bodacious barbarians and Thor, as you do. With Thor’s help, Kung Fury is sent to Nazi Germany where he faces off against Kung Führer.

In Summary:
Kung Fury is a masterpiece. It is amazing pop art paying loving and deeply layered tribute to the 80s in all its gritty, synthesized, over the top, wonderful glory. It is quite possibly the most amazing 31 minutes committed to Youtube. Did you grow up in the 80s? GOOD. THIS MOVIE IS FOR YOU. Did you not grow up in the 80s? DOESN’T MATTER, THE MOVIE WILL FORGIVE YOU ANYWAY AND WITNESS YOU, SHINY AND CHROME.

Want a cop whose head is literally that of a triceratops? GREAT. MEET TRICERACOP. Fighting transforming arcade console? YEA BRO.

David Sandberg has paid the most amazing tribute to 80s films, and the aesthetic and visuals employed are the sign of a great talent in the making. The attention to detail and amount of things thrown in is just astounding. This movie does not apologize for how much it’s going to punch the 80s into your face and you will love every damn moment of it.

And now I wish I still had a Sega because I have the massive urge to play Streets of Rage and listen to Power Glove.

Because I’m a kind person and you all need to watch this ASAP, I’ve embedded the official video at the end of this review. You’ll thank me later.
