Originally announced back in September 2014, the new Ghost in the Shell anime feature is set to debut on June 20th, 2015 and now the official YouTube channel for the franchise has released a new minute long trailer that’s chock full of animation. There’s not much new about the project that’s revealed alongside the trailer, but it’s one that certainly shows off the work well for those that are curious about it.
Details are still slim about the film in general that’s coming from Production I.G., but it has Kauchika Kise listed as the general director and character designer while Kazuya Nomura is slotted as the director. Tow Ubutaka is handling the screenplay while Toru Okubo is serving as the chief animation director and Cornelius as working on the music. Kise recently handled the direction on Ghost in the Shell: Arise and it looks like we’re getting a different Motoko here than we had in that series, to the delight of some to be sure.
The voice cast from the Ghost in the Shell: Arise OVA series will be reprising their roles here as well with Maaya Sakamoto, Ikkyuu Juku, Kenichirou Matsuda, Tarusuke Shingaki, Shunsuke Sakuya, Takurou Nakakuni, Youji Ueda, Kazuya Nakai, and Miyuki Sawashiro.
