Promotion for the new Netflix series Sense8 has been minimal to be sure, but considering the last big series was Marvel’s Daredevil and their marketing machine, there’s just a difference of scale. Set to debut its twelve episode run on June 5th, 2015, the project is one that’s coming from the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski which will take a global approach to its interconnected storyline. Ahead of its debut, Netflix has now launched individual character trailers for the main cast that introduces each of them while also providing the moment where they ‘connect’ with others, which is noted by the 8 in the lower corner of the screen.
The expansive cast includes:
Naveen Andrews, Daryl Hannah Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Freema Agyeman, Tena Desae, Doona Bae, Max Riemelt, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestre and Terrence Mann.
Plot concept: The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.
