The latest round of manga sales and rankings from Japan has arrived for the week ending on May 24th, and it’s a pretty interesting week overall as the chart shakes out a bit. The latest volume of Terra Formars blasts onto the chart at the top spot with just under 350,000 copies, which is pretty solid all around. Even more interesting though is seeing last weeks release of Fairy Tail basically double its sales in its second week, bringing it to just about 315,000 copies total so far. Barakamon added a good chunk of new sales as did the recent Kimiuso release. We’re also glad to continue to see Baby Steps finding new readers as it adds another 50,000 copies for its 35th volume.
On the light novel side, the story continues to be all about Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon? as the book continues to add at least around 7000 copies per week for the last few weeks, bringing most of them over the 100,000 line now and the first volume at just under 160,000 copies. Suffice to say, the anime has been a real boon for the series – which is the intent. this week debuts Hidan no Aria at the top spot with 25,000 copies while Mahouka Koukou no REttousei adds another 24,000 itself from the previous release to keep it in second place.
