‘Queen’s Blade: Grimoire’ Anime Getting Two Anime Episodes

2 min read

Queen's Blade GrimoireWe learned about a month ago that Queen’s Blade fans will be getting a new OVA this year with the adaptation of Queen’s Blade: Grimoire. While the initial information that came out indicated that the main staff from the original series would be returning, it’s now confirmed in a new scan that you can see below that Kinji Yoshimoto is definitely coming back as the chief director and that the project is slated for a two part OVA. Yoshimoto is handling the composition for the project that will be animated at FORTES. Yoshihide Yuuzumi is on board to direct the episodes themselves. The show has four character designers on board with Rin-Sin, Takayuki Noguchi, Satoshi Urushihara and Hiroshi Tsukada. Masashi Suzuki is taking Yoshimoto’s overall composition and turning them into the final scripts.

The first season was directed by Kinji Yoshimoto based on series composition by Tomohiro Matsu, scripts by Takao Yoshioka and character designs by Rinshin, who also served as the chief animation director. The previous anime adaptations have been picked up and released over the years by Media Blasters and Sentai Filmworks.

Plot concept: The story takes place after the wandering warrior Leina’s championship has ended. The royal court’s magician Alicia uses black magic and opens a doorway to another dimension. From that door, a rabbit lures Alicia into another dimension called Melfairland. Melfairland is holding a tournament of its own to award out a Queen’s Blade, and Alicia enters the tournament in order to find a way to return to her own world.
