It’s a light week on questions, which isn’t too bad of a thing as we spent most of the week doing a whole lot of news writing with about thirty articles per day, plus reviews. The past week has been a rollercoaster ride in a lot of ways with the way life goes, but as we settle into what finally feels like spring here in New England, I’m feeling a new sense of optimism that’s refreshing. It’s also been a very good week for anime, having seen Knights of Sidonia, and I’m still riding off the energy of Mad Max: Fury Road. Woo!

We’re going to need more reviewers! Actually, we’re looking for more anime, manga, comic and TV reviews. If you’re interested, check out this post and just add the TV and anime side to it if there’s an area you want to delve into. We’ve had one already come on board, but we’re still looking for more!

Check out some of the things we were asked about this week, and hit us up with new questions here because we definitely enjoy it! Remember, it doesn’t have to be just about anime.

What do you think of the timing of the Persona 4 Collector’s Edition coming out the same month as part 2 of the Persona 4 Golden blu-rays? Also was this a title that you were expecting to get a nice collector’s edition from Sentai?
I had hoped that the Golden release would get something worthy in the long run, since it’s one that does reach outside of the traditional anime realm due to the popularity of the games. Once we see more of what’s involved, it’ll be interesting to see whether that will attract the gamers or not to it.

As for the timing, I’m still putting it out there as a coincidence, but it works well for fans that want to go from one to the other after watching without a huge wait, so it’s a win for them in general.

Don’t you think it sucks that license agreements still weren’t settled while HxH was airing, probably so it could’ve had a shot at Toonami and possibly hit a home run with the audience?
Considering Toonami is still showing anime that was broadcast almost two decades ago, if and when Hunter X Hunter makes its way over, it has a good shot at being a home run series on the network.
Is there a voice actor (either English OR Japanese) you can think of that you would like to see playing against his/her typecast more often? If so, who?
I don’t dig deep into the voice actor side for the most part, on either side.

In all honesty, I just wish that the voice actors had more engaging material to work with at times and that some of the more dialogue oriented shows that don’t get dubs did, so they had an opportunity to play more interesting roles.

Since Hamatora is confirmed to get an English dub, how likely Sentai Filmworks will get Bryce Papenbrook to voice this character: http://myanimelist.net/character/93431/Nice

Considering Persona 4 Golden was a cash-grab anime, were you surprised that it won’t be getting a dub despite how popular the Shin Megumi Tensei series is in North America? Also did you watch the original P4A anime dub?
I have not watched the Persona 4 anime at all since the series was not released in bilingual form on Blu-ray. I ended up letting other reviewers that are more invested in the show at the time review it.

With Golden, it’s just such an odd project overall with what it’s doing that I could never quite wrap my head around the why of it all in being produced. I’m not surprised that it was mostly ignored though and that it likely wasn’t something anyone would be interested in picking up, though surely there are fans inerested in it for completion sake.

Of Sentai’s Bandai acquisitions, which one are you looking forward to most?
A lot of it depends, in a way, if a Blu-ray edition is eventually possible. If it is, then Zegapain is probably the one I’m most excited about since the show is hugely underrated and really needs more attention.

I’m also looking forward to seeing The Big O resurface again and get some new distribution. Just to have that opening song playing on an endless loop.

I’m secretly praying for a big Brain Powered BD release. 😀

But in the end, I think I’m most excited to revisit Betterman again in marathon form.

Do you think Fuji TV and Production IG should just STOP with Psycho-Pass when Season 2 was just all sorts of awful? Do you believe if they did make a season 3 they could just let Urobuchi write the whole thing again?
I haven’t seen Psycho-Pass 2 yet, so I can’t comment on its quality directly. I quite enjoyed the first season so I have hopes that the second is just as interesting. As for Urobuchi, his involvement is always so varied with projects and it’s all such a collaborative experience that I have no idea whether it would end up better or worse for him to come back to it since I have no frame of reference with the second series.
