With things moving right along in the shooting of the Preacher pilot for AMC, a little bit of additional news has surfaced in terms of casting. Tom Brooke has now joined the project to take on the role of Fiore, one of the two Adephi angels sent to Earth to retrieve Genesis that ends up causing quite a few problems along the way. Brooke is no stranger to genre entertainment with roles on Sherlock and Game of Thrones to his credits.
After being in the works in general for ten years and then getting a script order earlier this year at AMC, Preacher now has a pilot order for 2015 that would go to series in 2016 if picked up. The pilot has been written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg with Sam Catlin set to be showrunner. The pilot will star Dominic Cooper as Jesse, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Ian Colletti as Arseface and Tom Brooke as Fiore
Plot concept: Preacher is about Jesse Custer, a conflicted Preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip, and an Irish vampire named Cassidy, the three embark on a journey to literally find God.
