‘Silent Mobius QD’ Manga Ending Next Month

2 min read

Silent Mobius QD Paranormal PoliceWhile the Silent Mobius property is one that has a solid history to it and a good share of fans, it’s also one that doesn’t seem to connect as well to modern audiences. Kia Asamiya kicked off the Silent Mobius QD sequel series back in the summer of 2013 and we’re now learning that the title will end its run in Monthly Young Magazine with the June 20th issue due out next month. The first volume for the series was compiled back in the fall of 2014 and it’s expected we’ll see a relatively quick release for the second volume after this series ends.

The original work is one that went over well in North America when Viz Media first licensed it and the anime feature film came out, though its popularity sagged with the TV series and the drawn out nature of it. Both anime properties are currently out of print.

Plot concept: The story is set 17 years after Asamiya’s original paranormal police manga Silent Möbius, which debuted in 1988. The original manga deals with Attacked Mystification Police (AMP), an elite all-female unit who protects Tokyo from Lucifer Hawks and other supernatural creatures in the 2020s. The new “special police battle fantasy” manga will feature a “reborn” AMP unit.
