With the expected third season pickup of Agents of SHIELD, ABC released a brief plot synopsis for the show that returns in the fall and will follow the pattern of the second season by taking an extended break for Agent Carter to run in, allowing for larger blocks of episodes to run at a time. While ratings are not the strongest when it comes to the live tracking, it does build well with Live+3 and it helps to cement the overall brand and synergy that Disney looks for these days among its sister companies. The new season will retain its 9pm Tuesday timeslot when it returns and begins to focus on all the changes that will spin out of the finale from last night.
The series stars Clark Gregg as Director Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Agent Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki as Agent Bobbi Morse.
Plot concept: Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) embarks on a deadly new secret mission to protect the world from new threats in the wake of SHIELD’s wars with Hydra and a rogue faction of Inhumans.
