‘Rainy Cocoa’ Anime Begins Hulu Digital Distribution

2 min read

Rainy Cocoa Hulu HeaderFUNimation has added another series to Hulu for fans to check out, though it’s again done as a Hulu Plus show, so seeing the episode in full requires a subscription. The new series added is that of the two minute short Rainy Cocoa, which now has four episodes available on the service to check out. In addition to being able to see the episodes in full, those with a Hulu Plus account can watch this show on your TV and mobile devices.

The series is being directed by Tomomi Mochizuki with character designs from Atsuko Takahashi. FUNimation is streaming the series as part of their spring 2015 season and you can read our review of the first few episodes here.

The manga is a bit interesting in that it’s something that can be toggled between English and Japanese – something that you’d think there’d be more of at this point – but also far more interesting in that the original announcement detailed the English language voice cast for it as well, which is made up of several notable FUNimation voice talents. It’s expected that the show will be a short form series.

The cast from the webmanga on the Japanese side will be reprising their roles here and we’ve included the English language side just for reference.

Aoi Tokura: Hiro Shimono, Joel Mcdonald
Keiichi Iwase: Hikaru Midorikawa, Ian Sinclair
Shion Touga: Daisuke Hirakawa, Todd Haberkorn
Hiroshi Amami: Ryo Horikawa, Christopher Sabat
Ryouta Sakuragi: Mamoru Miyano, Vic Mignogna

Plot concept: An ordinary college student, Aoi Tokura, was having a bad day. It was so bad because he was called ugly by a good-looking guy on the train. Walking down the street in the rain, Aoi found a small, but cozy cafe, Rainy Color. He started to work part-time as he enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate he was served. Then a guy came into Rainy Color… It was Keiichi Iwase, the one who told Aoi was ugly!!??
