Urawa no Usagi-chan is an original series centered around the daily lives of 8 girls in junior high school in Saitama prefecture’s Urawa district. Faltering a bit the last time with introducing the student council side, this one dives into the actual meeting – which means we’re again not in the city and you have to wonder at the touristy aspect of the show. The arrival of the president though, a cat-girl type with devilish tooth named Saiko, throws everything into a tizzy since she’s late and dominating. And easily put in her place. Amusingly, the first order of business is Tokiwa putting in for a recall of the president, but that doesn’t exactly work as one would expect. Saiko’s your expect vengeful little ruler, especially when it comes to the Railway club, she she’s got no leg to stand on in closing them down, as much as she wants to. And boy does she want to as she practically goes looking for a fight with them later only to find that they’ve fled in advance of her. Saiko’s introduction and run totally has her coming across as a villain here.

In Summary:
With the bulk of the show spent in school interiors, there’s some simple fun with Saiko as she has the kind of personality that’s at least interesting to watch, even if you wouldn’t want to spend any time with her. Her role as the student council president is one that certainly has a strong flavor to it and you can see just how difficult she’d be to work with. But it does make this for a more engaging couple of minutes for an episode compared to the last one. And that’s certainly not a bad thing by any stretch. I’m still not quite sure how they’re marketing this show as promoting the area though, since it hasn’t spent much time in the area outside of school.
