‘The Strain’ Gets New Second Season Teasers

2 min read

The Strain LogoAs we’re getting closer to the second season of The Strain, FX is following the same pattern as before with some brief teaser spots to mix into its regular slate of commercials amid other shows. They’er done to be unnerving and unexpected for those that don’t follow things closely as it’s all quiet and simple before it gets darker and more blatant. That caught the attention of many the last time around and it’s likely to work fairly well this time too.

The second season got a thirteen episode order back in August 2014 that will have it premiere in summer 2015, which was the plan of the show did well as FX has talked about this as a definite story with a beginning, middle and end that could range from 39-65 episodes depending on how it unfolds.

FX Productions CEO previously said, “We’ve never had any doubts about The Strain. Working with Guillermo del Toro, Carlton Cuse, and the brilliant cast led by Corey Stoll has been everything we had hoped it would be and more. It is thrilling when you have a show that is a creative and commercial hit, which is a rare accomplishment in this increasingly crowded marketplace. We look forward having it on FX for as long as Carlton, Guillermo and Chuck Hogan need to tell this epic tale.”

Plot concept: The Strain is a high concept thriller that tells the story of Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), the head of the Center for Disease Control Canary Team in New York City. He and his team are called upon to investigate a mysterious viral outbreak with hallmarks of an ancient and evil strain of vampirism. As the strain spreads, Eph, his team, and an assembly of everyday New Yorkers, wage war for the fate of humanity itself.
