FUNimation Adds Updated ‘Noragami’ Anime DVD/BD Trailer

FUNimation has let loose with a new trailer on their YouTube channel today for the first season of Noragami, which is getting even more interest these days due to the announcement of a second season being in production. FUNimation is making it one of their big releases for July, and we expect them to move a lot of copies at Anime Expo as they have three different versions being released.

The series stars Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato, Maaya Uchida as Hiyori Iki, Yuuki Kaji as Yukine, Miyuki Sawashiro as Bishamon, Jun Fukuyama as Kazuma, Aki Toyosaki as Kofuku, Daisuke Ono as Daikoku, Toru Ohkawa as Tenjin, Asami Imai as Mayu and Rie Kugimiya as Nora.

The first season of the series was picked up for North American release by FUNimation at the end of 2014 with plans for them to release it in the summer of 2015 in DVD/BD combo form.

The series has put Mike McFarland to the task of directing it and he’s working off the script adaptation done by Bonny Clinkenbeard. The English language cast includes Jason Liebrecht as Yato, Bryn Apprill as Hiyori, Micah Solusod as Yukin, Alexis Tipton as Kofuku, Ian Sinclair as Daikoku, Mike McFarland as Rabo, Lauren Landa as Nora, Elizabeth Maxwell as Rishamon and Eric Vale as Kazuma.

Plot concept: Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
