‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spin-off Leads Revealed?

2 min read

Agents of SHIELD Adrianne Palick Nick Blood Mockingbird Lance HunterWe’ve been hearing for a few weeks now that a spin-off show for Agents of SHIELD was in the works where some of the cast from that show would lead off into a different area, resulting from how things play out in the final episodes of this season of the series. With ABC close to hopefully bringing back Agent Carter as well, this would give them three shows on the network, though likely only two playing at the same time and at different cycles that could intersect.

With the new show, if it gets approval, it would star Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood in the leads. The two joined the main show this season as Bobbi Morse, who is best known as Mockingbird in the comics, and Lance Hunter, an original character for the show. Series exec producer Jeffrey Bell and co-exec producer Paul Zbyszewski are currently writing the script for this spin-off and would serve as executive producers on it. Zbyszewski is being suggested as taking on the role of show runner for it. Some of the initial buzz about the project indicates that with upfronts coming up, the plan is that if it does get a greenlight after the script is worked through, a pilot may be done quickly with the existing SHIELD show staff, or they may just do a promo to work off of the existing mythology.

  1. Hunter isn’t an original character created for the show. He hasn’t had many prominent appearances in the comics, for sure, but he is still in them and has been since the 70s, when he worked with Nick Fury and Captain Britain against Red Skull.
