‘Wolverine’ Co-Creator Herb Trimpe Passes Away

Herb TrimpeThough no details are provided, it appears that according to his cousin, Wolverine co-creator Herb Trimpe has passed away according to ComicBook.com. Trimpe was at a convention this past weekend meeting with fans and drawing as he’s done for decades now. At age 75, he continued to write and draw comics, including a backup story in Savage Dragon last year. The bulk of his work over the years was with Marvel Comics where he was involved in a slew of properties, including defining the early visual look for the GI Joe series with Larry Hamma and much more. He’s most well known for his work in co-creating Wolverine when the character first appeared in The Incredible Hulk, but he was involved in so much over the years that made him known to many, including his stint on Star Wars while at Marvel.

His contributions to the world of comic art will be with us for a long time to come.
