With the release of the first volume of Yuki Yuna is a Hero approaching on April 10th, 2015, PonyCan USA premiered the dub at Sakura-Con in Seattle on Friday. Later that day, they confirmed the English cast with ANN.
The cast includes:
- Xanthe Huynh as Yuna Yuki
- Erika Harlacher as Mimori Togo
- Erica Mendez as Fu Inubozaki
- Brianna Knickerbocker as Itsuki Inubozaki
- Sarah Anne Williams as Karin Miyoshi
- Carrie Keranen as teacher
- Kira Buckland and Johanna Luis as students
We do not yet have any further confirmed information about dub production staff and other cast members. Kazuyoshi Fukuba, executive director of Pony Canyon, in an interview with ANN, revealed that the dub was produced by BangZoom! Entertainment.
PonyCan USA is releasing the show in three sets, with each set having two video discs (a BD and a DVD) with four episodes, along with a character song CD. The first release, priced at $89.98, will also come with a 24-page deluxe booklet with character designs by Takahiro Sakai and two collectible wall pin-up pictures illustrated by BUNBUN. On disc extras for it includes the clean opening and closing as well as TV commercials. The show will have both Japanese and English language audio as well as English subtitles and Spanish subtitles included according to the distribution solicitation.
The project was done by Studio Gokumi with direction by Seiji Kishi based on scripts and composition by Makoto Euze. BUNBUN served as the character designer.
Synopsis: The story takes place in the era of the gods, year 300. Yūna Yūki lives an ordinary life as a second year middle school student, but she’s also a member of the “Hero Club,” where club activities involve dealing with a mysterious being called “Vertex.”
