Fans of the Mad Max movies are coming across as generally very excited for Fury Road, even though there are some that would like to see Mel Gibson still in the role showing a far future version of events. Tom Hardy is looking to own the role though in a big way and as we get exposed to the bigger trailers and TV spots for it, the actor has revealed that Warner Bros. is definitely keen on more if this one succeeds. In a new profile out about him, he’s revealed that he’scontracted for three more films if this one ends up doing well enough at the box office, and if more demand is there. Warner Bros. knows it has a solid property and early screenings have people feeling very positive about the film, though there will be some critical backlash due to the fact that it is like the earlier films in being about the action with a lighter plot.

Still, the potential for three more Mad Max films with Hardy is definitely exciting as the property has a lot of places it can go, especially as director George Miller had talked previously about the fact that he’d written outlines for an entire trilogy while getting this one off the gruond.

Directed by George Miller, the film stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, and Nathan Jones. The film is set for release on May 15th, 2015 in 2D and 3D.

Plot concept: “MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life.

Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.

And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.”
