Military! gives us some old school military fun from the start here with a black and white beach invasion film sequence and that certainly has its humor there before it shifts to the present. And that present is the group at the beach together for a day of fun, which doesn’t go all that well, resulting in a comical spanking sequence. Everyone is having a lot of fun, though some are playing at soldier more than enjoying it, so they do get some grief and have to play nicely. There’s some hilariously awkward material here in the fanservice realm and it will leave you laughing and uncomfortable probably. Mizuno gets in on it as well, revealing that her swimsuit is actually her underwear and that just adds to the amount of blood from bloody noses out there. The show balances this material out with some “training” material with breaking open a watermelon, but you know it’s going to go badly based on this crew.

In Summary:
Military has slowly but surely been finding its voice and this episode definitely has fun with its more perverted voice. But that was a given considering it’s a beach episode. It mostly bookends it with the military side of things that works well, especially the black and white film sequence, but it’s the bouncy and perverted goodness in between that’s going to either delight or offend. I was more amused by it than anything else, simply because they’re at least trying to be over the top in this way and they do manage to succeed.
