Binan High is preparing for their Culture Festival. Since the class that wins the popularity vote gets a cash prize, the Defense Club will participate as well. They’ll be serving Kinugawa’s curry and transforming into their Battle Lovers costumes to serve “Cosplay Hero Curry.”
The Review:
Content: Contrary to the depressing tone of all the previous episodes this one is joyous and upbeat. Following the rolling of the credits we see one of several still montages of preparations for the festival. The episode then cuts away to the gang discussing what they should do for the festival and they settle on selling curry as magical boys. Also it is confirmed that, yes, the goldfish is one of the big baddies.
Blond McProtag passes flyers for their curry magical boy booth thing while blue glasses is preparing more curry. Finally, the heroes and villains discover each other’s true identities starting with blue glasses and silver haired dominatrix. The situation steadily and mercifully unravels from there. Blue glasses and silver dominatrix battle as their past pseudo romance is revealed or “friendship” as the show puts it.
Now that the show has revealed that everyone is repressing their fabulousness, Blond Mcprotag defends blue glasses from silver dominatrix’s attack. Then all the characters starts hurling their beams of light at one another and it ends on a comically dramatic still of the battle. Following the closing credits green porcupine informs us that next week is the finale sad face.
In summary:
This was hands down the best episode to date. The plot developments came hard and fast. My only complaint is more of a compliment in that the episode’s conclusion left me wishing it hadn’t been a cliff-hanger. The show had been finally gripping for once. At this point I would say there is no going back with this show. If you have come this far this episode is a must watch.
