AnimeJapan 2015 continues to add more new series to check out that are being announced and the mixed media project Valkyrie Drive is the latest. With plans for a console game and smartphone game in the works, a TV series is also being developed that will be called Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid-. No timeline for the series has been revealed just yet, but the first promotional video has arrived for it. Animated by ARMS, the series will be directed by Hikaru Kaneko based on scripts by Yousuke Kuroda. Kaneko is also handling the character designs for the series.
Casting for the series has been revealed with Mikako Izawa playing Mamori Shojo while Yuka Iguchi will play Mirei Shikishima.
Plot concept: The “beautiful girl sexy battle action” anime is set on five artificial islands.
