Archie Comics is definitely doing a lot of smart expansion these days but are also avoiding going the route of glutting the market with new material. With the success of the Afterlife with Archie book and the debut of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina previously, the published has now announced a new Archie Horror imprint will launch for this spring. That imprint will debut with the second issue of Sabrina on April 15th, 2015 while Afterlife With Archie will debut its 8th installment on May 6th. Thta issue will bring back Robert Aguirre-Sacasa writing with Francesco Francavilla on the art chores. Sabrina will have the same writer but will work with artist Robert Hack.
In speaking on the return of the series, Aguirre-Sacasa teased the debut of a third series in the Archie Horror line and spoke of the fan response to the titles: “[The Archie Horror books] have prompted the best work of our careers,” says Aguirre-Sacasa. “To take these iconic characters and reimagine them and place them in situations they’ve never been in before—it’s a blast, and I’m glad people are responding to it.”
