With the success of the Bubblegum Crisis Ultimate Edition that came out late last year as part of a Kickstarter program, AnimEigo’s Robert Woodhead has now teased for fans through it that there are some other plans in the works.
At the moment, nothing is formalized and no titles have been discussed, and they may not be all anime projects, but there are three in the works at various stages that means we should be getting some information on at least one of them soon.
AnimEigo doesn’t have a lot of anime that they still have license to from over the years, but there are some potentially interesting projects if any of them come to light.
The company is still selling these titles on their site, which presumably means they still have some form of license to work with:
AD Police Files
Bubblegum Crash
Otaku no Video
Riding Bean
Dagger of Kamui
Vampire Princess Miyu OVA
We’re guessing that there will be some live action samurai films that will be worked for the next project batch, but with the recent release of Otaku no Video on Blu-ray in Japan, I suspect that may be one of them as well. Which shows would you want to fund a project for?
