Hugh Jackman WolverineWhile we’re still in the opening months of 2015, events about this time next year are being talked about as the filming plans for the third Wolverine film are starting to come together.

With Fox moving right along with the X-Men: Apocalypse film, it was announced when that was set that there would be another outing for Wolverine with Hugh Jackman tackling the role again. Jackman recently talked about the character in stating that after seeing Birdman, he realized that he’ll want to play this character until he can’t do it anymore, which means we’ve got some potentially interesting Old Man Logan material coming out.

Fox has set a March 3rd, 2017 debut for the untitled Wolverine film and now we’ve gotten word via the film’s director, James Mangold, that the plan is to begin shooting early next year.

Mangold directed The Wolverine after Darren Aronofsky stepped away from the project amid the tragedy in Japan where filming was set to take place before the recent devastating earthquake and tsunami. No details are available yet about this new installment with who may be in it, what story may be adapted or how it might tie into the other events of the X-Men universe.
