While it was announced earlier in the week but with no start date (and we figured it would be all of March), Neon Alley has now gone live with Blood Lad in getting both sides of the series out there for free for fans. The series previously streamed on the service in bilingual form prior to the arrival of the DVD/BD set from Viz Media, but now Neon Alley is now bringing both forms of it back online for the month of March for fans to be able to stream for free. The series originally ran for ten episodes with some quirky comedy that was reminiscent of 80’s anime in some ways, with some modern fanservice fun that makes it very fun to check out.

Plot concept: Staz is one of the toughest vampires in the demon world. But unlike his ancestors, he finds being a vampire to be a serious pain and prefers to spend his time watching anime and playing video games instead. When a Japanese girl named Fuyumi wanders into his territory, Staz cannot hide his excitement at finally meeting a living human from his favorite culture. Unfortunately, Fuyumi dies after being swallowed by a monster, leaving her bare soul behind. Staz vows to Fuyumi that he will bring her back to life by any bloody means necessary.
