What They Say

After a very “intimate” accident, crafty Shouma lands in an all-female clinic for a round of special care! But he’s convinced that the only medicine he truly needs is the sweet love of every gorgeous woman who crosses his path. Will Shouma make his way into the hearts (and beds) of an entire hospital?

Nurse’s Paradise perfects its bedside manner with a host of saucy, sexy nurses…and even a prowling patient! Can a crazy young guy keep his hands to himself and his health on the mend…or will he cave to the teasing invitations of a team of adventurous aides?

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):

Nurse’s Paradise begins with a sexually active man’s nightmare. In the middle of intense sex with his girlfriend, Shouma Sagami gets himself stuck when she experiences a sudden “vaginal spasm.” Caught in a grip that won’t let go, the pair are whisked away to the Nas Ladies Clinic after being turned away by other hospitals ill equipped to fix the bizarre problem. A women’s only hospital, as the name implies, head nurse Sayaka immediately turns their new patient away until the facility director,  Seiko, takes the couple in for treatment. Being admitted into an all-women facility is a dream come true for our horny hero and he sets forth on a journey to turn the hospital into his personal harem.  Not content with stomaching Shouma’s perverted interests,  Sayaka does everything in her power to interfere with his plans and get him kicked out of the hospital. That might be easier said than done as all the nurses, even the hospital director, want a piece of what Shouma’s packing.

The biggest problem I have with Nurse’s Paradise is the absence of any likable characters. For one, Shouma is an asshole. He’s not even an incorrigible, lovable asshole. He takes his last minute admittance to an all female hospital in stride, seeing his stay as a mission of sexual conquest. He lies, manipulates and even performs a little bit of blackmail to get the other nurses to have sex with him. Be it taking advantage of a nurse’s naivete or discovering an employee’s prurient side job to earn money, these are all avenues to exploit in pursuit of his own physical needs. Like some 1980s comedy sex romp, Shouma’s fooling around always leads him into compromising position that work out for him in the end, no matter how ridiculous the situation gets. It makes for a story full of conveniences that gets boring after prolonged reading.

Nurse Sayaka doesn’t fare much better. How someone with her abrasive personality was allowed to become a nurse is a mystery (well, kind of, her mother runs the hospital). She could be forgiven if her anger and quick temper was directed to Shouma, but she has a tendency to lash out at the other nurses and other patients. Despite her constant interfering and capacity for violence against him, Shouma sees the head nurse as the top prize in his one man sex Olympics. The idea of claiming Sayaka conflicts with his own free wheeling attitude he has towards women and to see him struggle with these new found emotions while driving himself deep into another nurse’s throat is just about too much for me to stand.

There’s nothing particularly memorable about Nurse’s Paradise. Heck, I’m writing this review twenty minutes after finishing the book and the only memorable detail I can pick out from the story were the sex scenes between Shouma and the hospital director. Their scenes together are the best parts of the book, but considering the overall weakness of the work that isn’t much of a compliment.

In Summary

Nurse’s Paradise suffers from an early onset of mindless tedium. The story isn’t particularly interesting, the characters are forgettable and even the artwork is “so-so.” There are few instances of carnal creativity on the author’s part, however they are nothing any pervert hasn’t seen done before.
