With the success of the Flash and Arrow crossover last year, it’s no surprise that The CW would look for a way to maximize that. And they may have found the best way as they’re currently working with the creative side of those two shows, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim, for a new team-up series. While it doesn’t look like it’s going the pilot route, it does have the feeling of trying to build on the two successes they have with a third, so it’s easy to imagine it going straight to series, possibly as a mid-season premiere – or even a bridging show ala Agent Carter.
What’s interesting with it is that it’s looking to embrace the Flash side of things wholesale here while also being connected to Arrow enoguh as well. The show is bringing on board Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer from there as well as Caity Lotz in an unspecified role. From The Flash, they’re bringing on Victor Garber as half of Firestorm (and we expect the other half as well, unless they attach Garber to another character & actor) as well as Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold. In addition to that, they’re looking to add three other unspecified name characters to the show as well, which would allow for some interesting diversity in stories as well as connections to the other two shows.
