‘Sex Criminals’ Comic Getting TV Series Adaptation

2 min read

Sex Criminals Issue 1Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick are some of the more well known names in comics, and now the married couple are going to start making their name more well known in the TV sphere as well. The two have made a two year deal with Universal TV to adapt some of their works into TV series as well as working on some original concepts. Not surprisingly, one of the first projects that’s being explored is the very popular Sex Criminals series, which has gotten a lot of raves since it began in 2013 about a female librarian and male actor who discover they can freeze time when they orgasm.

“We’re always excited to usher in fresh voices to the television space, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Matt and Kelly Sue, a fantastic pair whose award-winning comics are as deeply realized as they are entertaining,” said Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria.

Both creators have an array of projects to draw from and plenty of material likely in mind for new original projects as well.

Sex Criminals Plot Concept: Suzie’s just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we’d ALL do: rob a couple banks. A bawdy and brazen sex comedy for comics begins here!
