After getting a look at the first volume for Yurikuma Arashi for its Japanese release recently, Media Factory has now expanded that view with a full look at the packaging for it. The first release is naturally the big one of the series since not only does it have a piece of reproduction artwork, something that each release will have, it also has a storage file to hold it all in.
The show will begin its DVD and Blu-ray releases on March 25th, 2015 with new volumes coming out monthly. The DVDs are priced at 6,000 yen each while the Blu-ray’s are priced at 7,000 yen each. Each release will come with first press limited edition materials. This release comes with two discs where the main disc is the show itself while the second is a character CD. Details for the first volume, which should largely be replicated across the run, include episode commentaries by the cast and staff for each episode and promotional videos.
The new series is being directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara with Tomohiro Furukawa as the assistant director at Silver Link while Etsuko Sumimoto is handling the character design adaptation from the original manga by Akiko Morishima that was kicked off this past February. Set to debut in January 2015, the series will star Miho Arakawa as Ginko Yurishiro, Yoshiko Ikuta as Ruru Yurigazaki, Nozomi Yamane as Kureha Tsubaki, Yui Ogura as Sumika Izumino, Aoi yuki as Mitsuko Yurizono, Konomi Yurikawa, Kikuko Inoue as Yuri-Ka Hakonaka, Aya Endo as Reia Tsubaki and Yōko Hikasa as Kaoru Harishima. It also has a few men in the cast with Junichi Suwabe as Life Sexy, Mitsuki Saiga as Life Cool and Kazutomi Yamamoto as Life Beauty.
Plot concept: At some point, somewhere in outer space, the small planet Kumalia exploded. As the particles of what used to be Kumalia showered upon Earth as a meteor shower, for some reason all the bears (kuma) on earth stood up to attack humanity!

One morning, Kureha Tsubasa and Sumika Izumino, students at Arashigaoka Academy, were alone watching “lily flowers” blooming in the flower bed. The two were ‘friends’ as well as lovers. The flower bed was a place very special for them. They stare at each other. Just then, a Bear Warning pierces loudly through the air! A Bear had encroached into the human world, and a human has been assaulted!
What in the world is this bear..? Mystery brings on more mysteries, a series of one raging blow after another! Yurikuma Arashi elegantly begins its opening act now!
