Sixth ‘Ranma 1/2’ Anime DVD/BD Release Set With Packaging Reveal

2 min read

Ranma 1/2Viz Media has set the release date of June 2nd, 2015 for the sixth installment of Ranma 1/2 as it gets its new Blu-ray treatment and they’ve debuted the packaging artwork for it as well. The release comes three months after the fifth set in March. No details about what extras are included with it, but the set will bring us another big batch of episodes starting at 116. The release is priced at $54.97 and will feature the original Japanese language track and English language track along with English subtitles. It’s expected that we’ll get extras similar to previous installments with a new We Love Ranma segment, the previews and relevant clean opening and closing sequences.

Series concept: After taking a surprise dip in a cursed spring while on a training journey in China, martial artist Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma, aren’t quite themselves anymore. Now Ranma turns into a girl whenever he’s splashed with cold water, and Genma turns into a panda!

Their new forms cause nothing but confusion at the Tendo dojo, where Soun Tendo is waiting to introduce one of his three daughters to Ranma – as his fiancee! Turns out Genma and Soun arranged the match long ago, but the girl, Akane, and the boy, Ranma, aren’t exactly crazy about the idea, or each other! Or are they? Watch the gender switching, jealous rages, and martial arts battles unfold all over again!

  1. I wonder if there will be a release following the seventh that contains the movies? I don’t think they are out on Blu-ray in Japan yet though…
