Now here’s a pleasant surprise on the Hulu service today as TMS Entertainment has opted to bring out the 2013 feature film Lupin The 3rd VS Detective Conan and stream it themselves. TMS has brought a fair number of their shows onto Hulu over the last year so it’s not a huge surprise, but with Discotek Media picking up home video licenses, one might think they’d hold back on this to work towards that being licensed. Regardless, the feature from 2013 is now available on the service in its original Japanese language form with English subtitles and those with a Hulu Plus account can stream it to their TV or mobile device.
This feature follows up the 2009 TV special that paired the two together for the first time in anime form and it garnered a huge rating back then.
Plot concept: Let’s settle this once and for all! Finally the time has come for the best showdown of our two heroes, Lupin and Conan! A big diamond has been stolen by the Magic Kid and he has managed to run off with it even under extremely tight security.
