Hanabee Acquires ‘Akame ga KILL!’ Anime For Australian Release

2 min read

Akame Ga KILL! CrunchyrollAfter Animatsu announced that they had picked up the UK rights for Akame ga KILL!, Hanabee has confirmed that they’ve picked up the Australian and New Zealand rights for the series as well. This will potentially make it easier for Animatsu to bring it out in the UK if they’re able to share the authoring costs a bit. Hanavbee has announced and confirmed that the series will be getting a DVD and Blu-ray release in the future and that it’ll be streaming on their site for free. The series has seen pickup in North America by Sentai Filmworks who are likely to dub it themselves, so it’s expected Animatsu  and Hanabee will be operating off of those materials as they recently acquired several series Sentai Filmworks is involved with.

The series adapted the manga of the same name by Tetsuya Takahiro that began in 2010 and has over nine volumes to its name so far. The anime has Tomoki Kobayashi directing working off of scripts by Makoto Ueze while Kazuhisa Nakamura handled the character designs. The show was animated by White Fox. Sora Amamiya performed the opening theme while Miku Sawai performed the ending theme song.

Sora Amamiya plays the lead, Yuu Asakawa as Leone and stars with Soma Saito as Tatsumi, Katsuyuki Konishi as Braht, Yukari Tamura as Mein, Risa Mizuno as Najenda, Mamiko Noto as Schere, Satomi Akesaka as Esdese and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Rabac.

Plot concept: Tatsumi is a fighter who just got robbed by a pretty girl, but his luck seems to be looking up, as another pretty girl has taken him in. What he doesn’t know is that this girl is about to be visited by a family of assassins (including the girl who robbed him) and they might be the good guys, and be recruiting…
