Likely a little bit of a snafu in the end, but it’s always good to talk a little bit more about the winter 2014 anime series Sakura Trick. Pony Canyon added to their YouTube channel today the promos for the opening and closing song CDs that were released on January 29th… 2014. One suspects that either they were never added in the first place and it’s now being corrected or that they misread the year thinking they’re coming out in two weeks.
Sentai Filmworks acquired the North American rights to the series back in January 2014 and the Japanese home video releases ended a few months ago, so we’ll hopefully be hearing more about the show here in the near future as we cross our fingers for a dub. The series, created by Tachi, has been running since 2011 and has had four graphic novel compilation releases so far. The winter 2014 series is set to be animated by Studio Deen with Kenichi Ishikura directing with character designs by Kyuta Sakai.
Plot concept: Yuu and Haruka were inseparable during junior high but a cruel twist of fate put them on opposite sides of the class when entering senior high. Forced to spend more time with their other classmates, they decide to do something to keep their relationship special. A comedy 4koma.
